The American Council on Education is accepting nominations for the 2006-07 ACE Fellowship Program. Now in its 41st year, this program is known for its success in preparing future leaders for executive positions in higher education. International Educator of the Year Award 2005

Each college is asked to submit nominations for the International Educator of the Year Award by October 31, 2005. Initiated last year by the International Center, the award was created to recognize outstanding international endeavors by UF faculty members. This year there will be two awards-one for untenured or newly tenured faculty and one for senior faculty. The winner of each award will receive $5000.

I am pleased to announce that in recognition of Homecoming the University of Florida will officially close from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2005. Our university rule allows for this time to be treated as a half-day holiday. In addition, in preparation for the homecoming parade no classes will be held on Friday.

Centralized contract with The Chronicle of Higher Education

I am pleased to announce that the university has established a centralized contract for recruitment advertising with The Chronicle of Higher Education. The newly established contract will provide a 15% discount for all print display ads and 100 web-only ads. Departments may request the web-only ads, which will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

For academic positions, departments will continue to work directly with The Chronicle when placing their ads. Departments simply need to […]
