The University of Florida supports open access (OA) to scholarly literature.  Open access publications are free-of-charge to readers, digital, web-based, and permanently available. Recent studies show that OA benefits the author because articles are published online and made available much faster than those in traditional proprietary journals, thereby giving their research timely visibility, higher citation rates, and greater overall impact.

Applications to establish or adjust Material and Supply Fees and Equipment Use Fees for the Spring 2011 term are now being accepted. All departmental requests should be submitted no later than September 17, 2010 and Deans approvals by September 27, 2010.
