I am pleased to announce a salary compensation plan designed to increase faculty pay and move the university towards greater parity with its national peers. This is the first year of a multi-year commitment to improve faculty salaries.

UF is scheduled to transition on June 18, 2004 from the current payroll system to the new PeopleSoft system. To insure timely processing of new academic appointments during the transition, the Office of Academic Personnel will continue to process all academic appointments in the PeopleSoft system through September 9, 2004 for the following colleges and units:

The Department of Labor will be implementing revised rules regarding the Fair Labor Standards Act after 50 years of little such revision. Although these changes will have only a minor impact on the University of Florida’s compliance, several of the university’s exempt-classified pay grades will be restructured to maintain compliance.
